PM deals with cultural heritage and landscape being wide-open to the most current theories. Its approach is holistic and include both traditional and contemporary landscapes, urban and rural, tangible and intangible, archaeological remains and modern monuments.
PM is based in Basilicata Region, in Southern Italy, and looks first of all at the Mediterranean basin and at a South that is not only a geographical datum, but is a set of values, relationships and rhythms of life.
It is a way of seeing and thinking the South from within it, and recognizes the values of a South that overturns the traditional paradigms of development and shifts into resources what seems to be a limit or a constraint.
It is a thought and an operative approach to cultural heritage, about how they were generated and handed down and about how they are generated today.
It is a careful approach to common goods, a regard to places and communities.
It is an attempt to restore dignity and respect to a world from which it has mainly been grabbed: together with people also resources, culture and traditions.
PM operates in the spirit of the European Landscape Convention and of the Faro Convention on the “Value of Cultural Heritage for Society”, the principles of whom it promotes and supports.
